Individual therapy refers to therapy sessions with one client and one therapist. Individual sessions with a therapist average about 45 minutes to one hour long. Therapy strives to help people better understand themselves and their problems in order to cope with the demands of their daily lives.
Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy conducted by psychologists and licensed counselors. Rather than participating in a one on one psychotherapy session, the main dynamic of group therapy is that you will be interacting with a number of people at the same time who may be facing similar issues to the ones you face. Numbers of participants in a therapy group range from about six to ten or twelve members, and depending upon the type of group, number of attendants may fluctuate.

Couples/Relationship and Marital Counseling may differ in duration. Short term counseling may be between 1 to 3 sessions whereas long term counseling may be between 12 and 24 sessions. An exception is brief or solution focused counseling. In addition, counseling tends to be more ‘here and now’ and focus on new coping strategies. Couples/Relationship and Marital Counseling is more about seemingly intractable problems with a relationship history, where emotions are the target and the agent of change.

Psychological Testing & Evaluations
Psychological evaluations assess whether an individual appears to have any psychological problems. The evaluation focuses on whether the individual has the symptoms of any specific psychological diagnoses or a number of diagnoses. The evaluation determines what type of treatment is most likely to be beneficial.
Psychoeducational assessments provide estimates of an individual’s intellectual, cognitive abilities and educational achievement levels. They assist in recommending educational planning.
Neuropsychological Evaluation & Testing
Neuropsychological tests offer an estimate of a person’s peak level of cognitive performance.
Aspects of cognitive functioning that are assessed typically include orientation, new-learning/memory, intelligence, language, visuoperception, and executive-functioning. However, clinical neuropsychological assessment is more than this and also focuses on a person’s psychological, personal, interpersonal and wider contextual circumstances.
These evaluations assist in understanding the pattern of cognitive strengths as well as any difficulties a person may have, and to aid decision making for use in a medical or rehabilitation environment.
Workshops occur in an environment that is healthy for the body, mind and spirit. The workshop team prepares for everything you might need. Court Ordered Evaluations
There are various types of court ordered evaluations. When an individual is involved in the criminal court system, the judge may require them to undergo a mental health, substance abuse or even psychological evaluation.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) are employee benefit programs offered by many employers, typically in conjunction with a health insurance plan. EAPs are intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health, and well-being.
The Department of Transportation requires a substance abuse evaluations for employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol regulation. A substance abuse professional does chemical dependency assessments for employees who are required to comply with certain federal regulations on substance abuse.
Case management serves as a means for achieving client wellness and autonomy through advocacy, communication, education, and identification of service resources and service facilitation. The case manager helps identify appropriate providers and facilities throughout the continuum of care.

Addictions counseling assists individuals who have a problem with addiction. We offer a sober living house for men over the age of 18. A sober house, recovery house, sober living environment or halfway house is an interim step on the path to sobriety where addicts can live in a supervised and sober environment with structure and rules, i.e. mandatory curfews, chores and therapeutic meetings.
